Description
Volume IV Chapter VI
“Listen, I know you’re tired but your shoulder needs to be reset. It’s gonna hurt.”
“It’s okay…” she coughed. “It’s not the first time.”
Trunks hesitated as Celari brought her left hand to her mouth and bit down on the palm of her thumb. She opened her eyes hearing the ripping of cloth. Trunks tore off the left sleeve of his shirt with his teeth. He then rolled it into a small bundle and pulled her hand out of her mouth. “Here, bite this instead.” Celari paused in surprise, then accepted it. Trunks positioned his hands over her shoulder with as little pressure as possible. “I’m gonna count to three, okay?”
“Mm.”
“One, two—”
Celari gasped and clenched as the bones snapped into place. She subconsciously held her breath as she kept her bite down tight.
“Breathe.” Trunks removed the cloth from her mouth and she began to pant again.
“Didn’t… (huff huff)… feel a thing…”
Trunks cracked a smile. “Heh, right. You’re in worse shape than I am.” He unrolled his sleeve and wrapped it around her shoulder for a brace. “I’ll pack you some ice when we get back to the ship. …Might even help break your fever.”
Celari watched him, bewildered as he cared for her, then felt guilty. “…I… I’m sorry, Boots**.”
He looked at her slightly puzzled.
“…I said some horrible things to you…” she continued but broke eye contact in shame.
Trunks hesitated a moment. “You’re sorry for what you said?”
“Uh?” She looked back at him from the ground.
“Geez, I could care less about what you said. What about beating the crap out of me? Couldn’t you be sorry for that instead?” Trunks rubbed his face. Celari stared at him for a moment, then couldn’t help but smile and chuckle.
**In Volume I - When Celari first meets Trunks she calls him "Boots" by mistake on account of his loud shoes. The nickname kinda sticks but she does call him by his real name on occasion.
